Rocky pictured below is currently available to a loving pet home. He is 6 months old and just starting to grow his new coat. This will be a very pretty boy once his adult coat is all in. He is up to date on all shots and will be neutered prior to leaving my home. He is priced at $1200 including his neuter.

Proud Supporter of Genetic Research on Alopecia-X / BSD & Genome Mapping in Poms

In order to be part of the contribution to this very important research Mythical Poms will donate $100 from each of our sale to this important cause and invites others breeders and pet owners to donate as well, every little bit helps!

We do not keep poms that are affected with Alopecia X as part of our breeding program. Those who become affected need to go to loving pet homes. Below is a photo of my wonderful 7 1/2 year old boy who is affected with Alopecia. He is a normal dog in every way other than when his hair falls out, he loses the fur on his body but never the legs and head similarily to a chinese crested. This boy is the love of my life and is NOT available, however, most of the poms who are affected are similarily beautiful, perhaps God's way of balancing things out. An Alopecia baby may be an option to consider for someone who prefers to shave their dog for lower maintenance or to dress them up. We do not yet have a test for this condition therefore, while most breeders try their best , it is simply not totally predictable without a genetic marker.

While we take this issue in our lovely breed seriously, we feel that an owner with a sense of humour is best suited for these babies. We refuse to feel sorry for our boy and wholeheartedly believe that he knows how special he is because we show him that he is special and likewise, that if we felt sadness when looking at him, this would be the energy that he would feel. They deserve to be the light of someone's life and not be a disapointment.
